Summary: Adobe Xd is an extremely popular piece of software, that will let you design professional, interactive UI layouts. If you want to land a job as a web designer or a mobile app designer, or, if you want to become a design freelancer, Adobe Xd is definitely one of the programs you will need to get to know. Have a look at job offers for designers or design projects available for freelancers – a lot of them expect the knowledge of Adobe Xd. Of course, there are alternatives, but if you are already using programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc., adding Xd to your skills portfolio is kind of natural. I want this guide to help you start creating web layouts as quickly as possible. I want you to, ultimately, become an independent web designer and Xd user. That’s why I’ve divided this guide into two main parts. First you will Learn the main concepts like what Xd is and how to download it Get to know the program by exploring the Home screen, the Workspace and understanding the difference between designing and prototyping Understand how to create new files, manage artboards and tools Get yourself familiar with plugins and assets Once we know all this, we will move on to creating the design. In this second part of the guide, you will: Learn how to find color and design inspiration for your projects Design and then prototype a web layout Learn how to save and share your final design We will go step by step from learning how to install and use the basic functionalities of Xd, through designing and prototyping, all the way to finalizing your project. By the end of this guide, you should be able to independently design and prototype web layouts in Adobe Xd.
